Arts Across America: FirstWorks spotlights two Providence artists as part of Kennedy Center’s national series
November 9, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

FirstWorks and NEFA have joined forces to curate performances by two Providence artists to be spotlighted as part of The Kennedy Center’s “Arts Across America” national series.
Tune in live for:
UnMuted Tears with award-winning actress, singer, and writer Rose Weaver
“Weaver has the rare ability to prompt laughter that turns into tears.
And when she sings, hearts break and angels cry”
—Patti Hartigan, Boston Globe
Rhode Island’s celebrated spinner of tales uses songs, prose and dramatic storytelling to advocate, inspire and celebrate positive self-esteem.
Cambodian Lullaby with storyteller, Hip Hop dance educator, and scholar Sokeo Ros
Excerpts from Ros’ autobiographical solo show From Refugee Camp to Project incorporate dance/movement to tell his redemptive story of a refugee’s migration into a world where assimilation to gang violence and dance are the only ways to cope with day-to-day trauma.
Hosted by FirstWorks Executive Director, Kathleen Pletcher
