New research offers insight on older adults living in publicly supported housing

The Public and Affordable Housing Research Corporation’s (PAHRC) new 2020 Housing Impact Report Feature on Seniors examines the latest trends among seniors living in publicly supported rental homes and offers new insights into how affordable housing providers are serving ‘pre-seniors,’ or older adults on the cusp of turning 62. PAHRC finds that the number of older adults who live in publicly supported homes rose 2.9% from 2018 to 2019, and the number of low-income seniors that would likely be eligible for housing assistance rose 5.6% to 7 million.
