6. How to communicate and frame your message

  • Public announcements can vary according to your committee's plans. A formal announcement and print/digital media coverage can commence at the start of your process or later during your initiative, for example, after your plan is completed and presented to town/city planners. Some age-friendly groups which choose to apply to be a member of AARP's network of livable cities announce their work when the application is completed and approved; typically AARP and Age-Friendly representatives attend a formal public announcement of their design and choosing.
