With almost 20 years of nonprofit management, lobbying and grassroots advocacy, and regulatory agency experience, Nicholas Oliver has added value to the operations and initiatives of many organizations. Representing many amazing nonprofit organizations, including the American Heart Association and the Sierra Club, Nicholas has led or supported successful efforts for statewide smokefree workplace laws, good samaritan liability immunity laws for CPR to save lives, comprehensive statewide planning and implementation for Stroke disability and death reduction, mercury abatement laws on consumer products, expanded bottle deposit recycling programs, equitable education opportunities for children with exceptional disabilities, more stringent carbon emission standards on vehicles, expanded statewide support and planning systems for Cancer survivors, and protected access to quality home healthcare and hospice services. He is also a recognized content expert in Medicaid payment methodologies and worked with the Romney administration to transition Massachusetts as one of the last states in the country to adopt a fee-for-service reimbursement model from the previous blended per diem rate structure for elementary and secondary special education institutions and for home and community-based healthcare providers.
Nicholas is a graduate of the University of Hartford with a Bachelors in Political Economy with a minor in Public Relations and the John W. McCormack Graduate School at the University of Massachusetts Boston with a Masters in Public Affairs focused on nonprofit management. In addition, he is a Certified Association Executive, a coveted achievement attained by less than 5% of nonprofit organization chief executive officers, by the American Society of Association Executives. Born and raised in East Providence, Rhode Island, Nicholas and his family continue to reside in their beloved community and strive to make it a better place to live, work, play and pray.
