Register for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Your Community

Alzheimer’s disease affects millions of people across the globe, and Rhode Island is joining the fight by hosting the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s in three locations this September. The Alzheimer’s Association of Rhode Island invites you to participate in these meaningful walks, which are scheduled for September 21 in Westerly, September 22 in Newport, September 28 in North Scituate, and September 29 in Providence. You can register for any of these walks using this link.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is more than just a fundraiser; it’s a powerful movement to raise awareness about a disease that touches far too many lives. The need for increased awareness, research, and support is more urgent than ever as 1 in 9 people aged 65 and older in the United States has Alzheimer’s, and that figure is expected to grow as the population ages. In Rhode Island alone, over 24,000 people are living with Alzheimer’s, placing enormous pressure on families, caregivers, and the healthcare system.

This event is held in over 600 communities nationwide, making it the largest event dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. The funds raised contribute to vital resources for people living with dementia, their families, and caregivers, and help drive advancements in research that bring us closer to treatment breakthroughs.

By participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, you not only help fund critical initiatives but also connect with a supportive community of individuals who share the common goal of ending Alzheimer’s disease. Every step taken during these walks represents progress toward finding a cure and building hope for those impacted.
