COMMUNICATIONS WORK GROUP

Deirdre Weedon has had more than twenty years of experience in communications and marketing in education, health insurance, and small business. Since 2014, she has been involved in the health insurance industry taking on roles in marketing, events management, and outreach. In her work, she has built hundreds of partnerships with government agencies, social service organizations, businesses, and higher education. Prior to her work in healthcare, Deirdre spent over a decade in higher education where she was Assistant Director of the Center for STEM Education at Northeastern University. In this position, she recruited and managed the activities of more than 150 engineers who volunteered in urban middle schools. Deirdre also spent three years as a marketing consultant, developing online communications strategies for small businesses, including creating content for social media channels, blogging, and website development.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in English and Master of Arts degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Northeastern University. She lives in Rhode Island with her family where she is very active in her community.
