Outdoor Work Group
Annette Alve has experience developing and delivering social services to senior citizens and women. She comes to Rhode Island with over a decade of working as a program administrator for the Westchester County, New York Department of Senior Programs and Services and the Office for Women. Her work with seniors includes coordinating the Livable Communities Collaborative, Long Term Care Council and the Elder Abuse Coalition. At the Office for Women she coordinated the sexual harassment prevention training for county employees and managed programs for domestic violence survivors, financial literacy and equal opportunities for women and girls. She has a master’s degree in organizational psychology from Baruch College, City University of New York.
Annette is also a horticultural therapist, certified by the New York Botanical Garden, and a member of the 2019 Master Gardener class at the University of Rhode Island. She has provided horticultural therapy to seniors and children in residential facilities and currently volunteers for her local garden club in Narragansett.
