Teen launches ‘COVID Connectors’ to help patients in RI hospitals talk to loved ones
Given the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic, hospitals nationwide have had to make the difficult decision to limit or eliminate patient visitation. COVID Connectors‘ mission is to help patients communicate with their loved ones and help loved ones communicate with patients. Because no patient should feel alone. By donating your gently used device you help make that happen. They will match your device with a RI-based hospital to give patients the chance to stay connected with those they love.

$200M in Telehealth Funding Now Available for Services
The recently enacted CARES Act includes funding for providers to purchase services and devices necessary to keep patients connected to care during and in response to COVID-19. Technologies and services covered include video consults and visits, store and forward services, patient education, and devices connected back to provider systems.
Among the eligible health care organizations are community health centers and health centers providing care to migrants, community mental health centers, not-for-profit hospitals, and rural health clinics. The funding is intended to help health centers continue to deliver the highest level of care in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
