Power-Up 2019!

On June 20, a sold out crowd at the Crowne Plaza was on hand for an inspiring, informative and energizing morning exploring age-friendly innovation in action in Rhode Island.

Speakers included Lieutenant Governor Dan McKee,  Ashton Applewhite – author of This Chair Rocks: A Manifesto Against Ageism, Commissioner Emily Shea of the Boston’s Age Strong Commission Strong, Director Rose Jones of the RI Office of Healthy Aging, President Frank Sanchez of Rhode Island College and Nora Moreno Cargie, President of the Tufts Health Plan Foundation.  Municipal leaders from across Rhode Island who are spearheading age-friendly initiatives locally also shared insights from their work, inspiring attendees to embrace age-friendly programs in their own communities.
