Survey Seeks Input On How Well Newport Accommodates Its Older Residents

To make Newport a more livable City for residents as they age, a survey is asking residents age 45+ what the City is doing well and what it could do better.

The survey is running until November 29 and is part of the work being done by the City, AARP Rhode Island, and the Newport Partnership for Families to make Newport an even better place to live for its aging population. With 21 percent of the City’s population now age 60 and over, that number is projected to double by 2040.

The survey is available online at the city’s website and hard copies are available in English and Spanish at City Hall, the Edward King House, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center and various other locations throughout the City.
