Protecting older Rhode Islanders during COVID-19
Over the last year, the AG’s Office has been visiting communities across our state educating older Rhode Islanders about how to protect themselves from scams, abuse, and more. Their Elder Abuse Unit has spearheaded this mission through a series of in-person presentations.
Although COVID-19 has changed the way we are able to connect with Rhode Islanders, their mission remains the same. We’re excited to share a new video presentation the Office developed, which addresses some of the major issues that have arisen during COVID-19. These issues, including federal stimulus payments, scam calls, scam investment schemes, and the integrity of caretakers, have specifically affected older Rhode Islanders.
