The Providence Village to Host Meeting with Special Guest, Pam Steager

Pam Steager is a Senior Trainer, Researcher and Writer with the Media Education Lab at URI. Creator and Director of the Media SmART! Project in the Providence Public School system, she now presents on media literacy locally, nationally, and internationally, is state coordinator for the RI Media Literacy Now initiative, and a longtime media producer. Pam will present and lead a discussion on pressing current and generational issues of media literacy – the ability to access, analyze, evaluate, create and act on the barrage of messages we receive daily via the media, whether in old print-based forms or in the ever-changing 21st-century media. This is an increasingly important topic, particularly in the current election season.
